Hello! I have to post this and run, because I need to get a lasagna in the oven A.S.A.P.! I have a freebie for you that I am going to be starting tomorrow, since my students just earned their Cookie Compliment party. I always notice this time of year that student behaviors begin to escalate a bit- for the worse! Even though I have an amazing class this year, I thought they could use some positive reinforcement. My school participates in the Character Counts program, so these Character Cupcakes will work perfectly! I found the trays below at Dollar Tree. They had round, rectangular, and oval ones. I wanted something a little different than the regular round or rectangular baking pans. 

Below is the glue (purchased at Joann's) I used for adhering the ribbon and title topper. The glue has a really strong bond and it is my favorite to use. Sometimes hot glue just peels right off of projects like this. I added magnetic tape (also purchased at Joann's) to the backs of the cupcakes. If you laminate the cupcakes and the title topper, they will last forever!

Here is my finished cupcake tray. I plan to have 12 cupcakes be the goal for the class, but you can print as many cupcakes as you like. I think it would be adorable to have cartoon character cupcakes for the class when they reach their goal. I have seen really cute Sesame Street and Sponge Bob cupcakes!

I hope you are able to use Character Cupcakes in your class. If you would like larger toppers, just let me know. I didn't want the title topper to overpower my tray, but if your tray is larger, you might want larger toppers.

Happy spring! I am so excited for bunnies, chocolate eggs, and fun spring math and language arts centers with plastic eggs and baskets! With the spring weather, though, comes the dreaded Spring Fever epidemic that every year seems to hit my classroom sometime in March! I have created a Bunny Money Freebie in the hopes I can entice the students to stay focused and on track at least throughout April. At the end of each week, I plan to give those students who complete all of their assignments and homework one Bunny Money slip. Those students who earn $5 worth of Bunny Money will be invited to redeem their money for a pizza party at the end of April. I may even do something fun for these students like hide some plastic eggs filled with candy in the classroom and let them have an egg hunt during lunch recess! You can find Bunny Money here. I have a sheet of boys, a sheet of girls, and a mix of boys and girls on one sheet. I plan to laminate them and keep them to use in the future after the students redeem them. I hope you can use Bunny Money!

I am also excited to link up with the fabulous Tara from Fourth Grade Frolics. In case you missed this and were interested, I wanted to share my freebie conference binder here. It has helped me to stay organized with the overwhelming amounts of data I need to have at my fingertips for conferences. The parents always appreciate the  conference form included in this file so much. 

This page is my favorite of the entire file! It's what drives my conferences, so I can remember exactly what information I want to share with parents. I give the parents their own copy of it after the conference is over to keep as their reference of what they need to be working on at home. You could also just jot down notes about what you want to cover at the conference if you would rather not give the parents a copy. Everything in the binder is editable, and you can type the information or handwrite on the form. I hope you are able to use it next year if you are finished with conferences.

Happy Saturday! It's the beginning of my Spring Break! I'm excited to have absolutely no plans for the upcoming week! I hope to get organized at home and school and recharge my batteries for the next two and a half months of school. It is really flying by. :(

I made a "We've Been Leprechauned" freebie for you. I plan to do this when I return from Spring Break on St. Paddy's Day. If you are still in school, it would be fun to Leprechaun your neighbors at school next week up until St. Patrick's Day. I have included two versions- an actual leprechaun, and an owl leprechaun (of course). Directions and printables are included here.

I found some really cute clear plastic containers (above) from Michaels. I plan to use them for the candy as well as for for my St. Paddy's Day centers when I return from break. Any gold or green foil covered candy would be great for adding to the bowl. What other fun things do you have planned for St. Patrick's Day? I might have to sneak into my classroom over break to get it ready for the Leprechauns!

Hi there! Did you know St. Patrick's Day is also called St. Paddy's Day? I always thought it was St. Patty's Day! But I read that Patty is considered feminine, and Paddy is masculine, so it is short for Patrick. I love that there is always something to learn!
I have a freebie for you today. I plan to add these St. Paddy's Day homework passes to my students' treat bags. I made two sizes for those who would like to conserve paper and ink. Please let me know if you would like a leprechaun boy and/or girl version. I can whip that up quickly!

Hello! I can't believe March is here! The second half of the school year is flying by. This happens every year! It makes me a little sad because I have the BEST class this year. Everyone just works so well together! I know this month will fly by because my Spring Break begins in about a week, but first I have to get through conferences!

I have been working on a St. Paddy's Day ELA Centers pack here. Since our break falls right before St. Patrick's Day, I want to begin these centers next week. There are six skills included: Pronouns, Word Building, Fact and Opinion, Possessive Nouns, ABC Order and Guide Words Practice, and Sorting Parts of Speech. I bought a few pails for students to draw cards from and have ordered mini pots and plastic gold coins from Oriental Trading for the students to use instead of the paper pots and gold coins that I've included in one of the centers. I love it when the kiddos think they are playing a game but are really learning! I couldn't resist this owl themed St. Paddy's Day clip art! 

I also have a freebie for you here.  I hope you can use it in your classroom! There are days when I need this reminder!

And here is another version, because I realize not everyone loves owls!
